Epic Hairstyles For Natalie Portman In Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace

Given the impending release of the new Star Wars movies, I thought I’d re-watch the first six and pick out a bunch of the amazing hairstyles the character designers and stylists imagined. The first movie is an ideal place to start with Natalie Portman’s seriously epic hairstyles as the Queen or the Naboo people and in contrast her styles as the Queen’s handmaiden, Padmé.

The Queen obviously needs a bit of an ostentatious style that her position and the gaggle of hand maidens affords. Even though this isn’t practical for real life, some of the styles are super cool. Maybe inspiration for a halloween or themed costume party?

Frozen Queen Elsa Braided Hairstyle Tutorial

Queen Elsa Braided hairstyle tutorial! About time I put up something about Frozen, now that it’s over a year old and the highest grossing animated movie of all time. Lets state with Queen Elsa and her more casual look with long braided hair. We’ll get to the crown up-do in another post.

Anne Hathaway in One Day

Anne Hathaway in the movie One Day.  One Day was a great movie from a hairstyle perspective. Anne has such a variety of hairstyles that you can see what your own hair can do. From short to shoulder length and longer hair styles with bangs and without and even some updo styles. Anyhow check out the pictures!

The Hunger Games 2 Catching Fire Hairstyles

The second Hunger Games movie Catching Fire again had some amazingly cool hairstyles. Not that I would wear a bunch of them out in public, but they are still really inventive and colorful. One of the main draws to the movie was seeing Katniss in her wedding dress that turns into a mocking jay like magic. So let’s check that out first, Jennifer Lawrence in the Hunger games wedding hairstyle that’s a really classy up do with just a bit of flair with the braided bun and white sparkly accessories in her hair.

Charlize Theron’s Hairstyles in Snow White and the Huntsman

Dressing up as a queen? Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman has a few great hairstyles fit for a modern queen. The braid to reinforce the look of the crown and to hold that thing in place is really nice. It gives the heavy metal spiked crown a softer glowing blonde edge. It even looks good without the crown on.

The Hunger Games Hairstyles

There are a lot of things about the first Hunger Games movie from 2012 that bothered me. First, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is supposed to be from the poorest of the 12 districts, so why is she healthy, almost plump, looking? You’d think if they’re so hungry that they are risking execution to hunt a few birds (and fail at hunting a deer) in the next district they would actually look hungry and at least reasonably skinny. Secondly, those family genetics are pretty strange. Katniss has black hair but her sister Primrose Everdeen (played by Willow Shields)and her mom is blonde or dirty blonde? That doesn’t seem strange to anyone?

Anne Hathaway French Twist Hairstyle for Vogue Magazine

Yesterday we were looking at a young, twenty-something Anne Hathaway playing a clumsy, fashion-backward girl in “The Devil Wears Prada.” (Not to mention her star-making turn in 2001’s “The Princess Diaries”) We know from real life, that her character couldn’t be farther from the truth—Hathaway has carved out her own niche amid the Hollywood glitterati as a natural beauty not to mention Oscar-nominated actress, she’s reminiscent of Elizabeth Taylor or Judy Garland, says “An Education” Director Lone Scherfig, who will film the actress in his upcoming romantic comedy, “One Day.”

Carey Mulligan Hairstyle in Wall Street

In the new movie “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” the sequel to the 1987 movie “Wall Street” Carey Mulligan plays Winnie Gekko estranged daughter of Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas).

Throughout the film Carey has a great short and straight or messy hairstyle that is super cute and (although slightly longer) really similar to the style Emma Watson had at the opening of the latest Harry Potter movie. Though Carey has had several shorter and similar cuts this style stands out specifically because of how short it is and the deep red-ish brunette color it is…  instead of her other brunette or blond looks.

Olga Kurylenko with a great Hairstyle in the movie Centurion (2010)

If you need a super bad-ass look for Dragon Con next year this is it.  Olga Kurylenko had this great long sexy, half up-do, pulled back, hairstyle in the 2010 movie Centurion. It’s a pretty awesome look if you have lots of long wavy to curly dark brunette to black hair. Carrying around a sword and some war paint helps with the bad-ass killer look too.

Hackers the movie Hairstyles – 90’s Punk – Angelina Jolie

Hackers the movie Hairstyles – 90’s Punk. 1995 Angelina Jolie looking hot in a super short punk style cut. Her bangs are cut at varying length to flow with her eyes and eyebrows and the sideburns are left long enough to hang down to her jaw line.

Natalie Dormer’s amazing Hunger Games Mockingjay hairstyle

Natalie Dormer‘s amazing Hunger Games – Mockingjay (part 1) hairstyle as Cressida.

The new Hunger Games movie in coming in November is going to be great. But you don’t know just how great because you haven’t seen Natalie Dormer’s shaved head with a braid and floral tattoo yet! This is amazing, I’ll see the movie just for her haircut.. and her, obviously. The braid down the side with the undercut makes me think of a long horse mane. Check out these new photos of Natalie Dormer as Cressida in The Hunger Games:

Olivia Wilde Tron Hairstyle Black Bob Cut – Quorra is Super Hot

In the upcoming movie Tron: Legacy Olivia Wilde plays the character Quorra, pretty much the ultimate nerd fantasy. It took me a minute to recognize her with the cute short bob-cut with bangs hairstyle she sports in the movie. From the second photo down it seems like her hair is cut with a bit of a taper down to the right..  like her bangs get longer towards the right side of her face. Maybe it’s just that photo but to me it looks a bit off, like they half-assed a popular bob cut style like Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux but it’s not as intense..  more cute with the bangs and mostly even look. Even so, Olivia pulls it off nicely.

Brad Pitt – Fury (2014) movie hairstyle

Brad Pitt‘s hairstyle in Fury (2014) is awesome!

Fury synopsis: April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Out-numbered, out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Anna Paquin – Movie and TV Hairstyles styles. True Blood and X-Men

Anna Paquin – star of the hit HBO series True Blood where she plays a telepathic, half-faerie half-human, with special powers. She also plays the character Rogue in the X-men movies as well playing in other movies you might know; Amistad, A Walk on the Moon, The Piano, Scream 4, and many others.

I’m pretty sure this proves you can do literally anything you want with whatever hair you might have.  🙂

Check out some of her on-screen styles:

Ultra Violet Movie Hairstyle – Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich in Ultraviolet again has amazingly colored hairstyles. Like in The Fifth Element with her orange hair this new purple style looks great…  though I prefer the shorter more messy look in the other movie. 🙂

The color changing effects in Ultraviolet are also super cool. I like the screenshot below where she has almost all black hair with an amazing color of purple/blue on the tips.  Check out the movie for other interesting hairstyles on the other characters like really long dreads or other chicks with purple hair.

The Fifth Element Hairstyles & Color – Milla Jovovich – Chris Tucker and More

Ok, is it’s been forever since The Fifth Element came out in 1997(gasp), but it’s still a great movie! And of course it’s got so many great hairstyles, gotta give a hand to the costume/makeup/hairstylists for the movie for doing a fabulous job! Just as an example look at the scene where the Diva (Maiwenn Le Besco) sings the techno-opera and really look around at the audience in the background, there’s more awesome hairstyles just in that scene than in most entire movies.

Obviously the hairstyle that everyone remembers from The Fifth Element is Leeloo’s (Milla Jovovich) hair. The awesome bright orange with blond roots color…  the orange and white color scheme that runs throughout the movie makes me think someone was a UT or Syracuse fan. lol. Back to the hair…  it seems like for most of the movie that it had an almost dreaded look like is was twisted in clumps with some wax. I like it, gave it more of a hardcore look than just leaving it natural. The short bangs gave her a more cute feel. Put it all together, and I think it pulled off her look and feel for the character of Leeloo quite nicely.

Charlize Theron Aeon Flux Movie Hairstyle

This style worked great for Charlize Theron in the movie Aeon Flux, especially with all the black leather clothing. It’s like an asymmetrical bob-cut but leaving just a bit in front on both sides to accentuate your jaw line.
