So you want some super fun hair color? But you don’t want to show off and look super flashy all the time? This hair style is ideal for you. Apparently dubbed the oil slick because of how it looks black or a solid color from one direction, but if the light hits it right or you move it around you get a magic rainbow of shiny color. Unfortunately oil slick coloring isn’t going to be a simple diy style hair color.
Everyone remembers this Gone In 60 Seconds, right? Well you should, there are awesome cars, a bit of illegal activity, and Angelina Jolie looking great with platinum blonde hair as the character Sara ‘Sway’ Wayland. And more than that she has it styled with sort-of faux twisted dreads that are super edgy for when the movie was made.
Do you really want glitter in your hair for the next six weeks? If you said YES! like me, then glitter roots are here for you.
Looking for something amazing to take your beard to the next level in a fun and sparkly way? How about beard glitter, it’s almost as fabulous as you. And for those of you who don’t have a beard, this should be your number one reason to start growing one right now. Seriously, stop shaving immediately so you can have beard glitter too.
This Mermaid like hair color should subtly shimmer with a full spectrum of beautiful colors. According to Pinterest’s top hair trend predictions for 2016 “fluid hair painting uses a similar painting technique to balayage.” But this hair coloring technique uses more than just lightening or one color. It uses a full spectrum of beautiful pastel shades. I’m not 100% convinced this isn’t just some stylists slight twist on coloring techniques that a bunch of other people do too, just to try to charge more for it. lol.
Balayage hair painting creates a subtle and beautiful variation in the color and tone of your hair. You don’t need light hair, you don’t need to go as drastic as a ombre or dip dye lightening. These chocolate and caramel balayage colors are perfect for your already dark hair that you want to keep dark and beautiful. And add just a touch of softer browns and depth to your natural color for a rich brunette color.
Gray and silver hair color isn’t going away in 2016. It’s just getting a bit more refined. Enough people tested and experimented with all sorts of gray shades over the last couple years that the color has sort of grown up. One of the best newer colors to come out of that experimentation is a stunning gun-metal gray shade that’s subtle and gorgeous. To get to a true gunmetal or charcoal gray you have to first make sure you get all the color out of your hair, no yellow tones, completely desaturated to get a beautiful monochrome gray. Check out the gallery of gunmetal gray hairstyles for your inspiration or bring them to your hairdresser to make sure you get what you really want. And do it soon, these colors are just going to keep trending up as the year progresses.
Check out these amazing short hairstyles Rihanna has had over the last few years. From long red hair, braids, and undercuts to these varied short hairstyles, Rihanna has had too many over the last few years to keep track of. Not all amazing (jk they are), but surprising that she can flawlessly pull off just about any short hair cut, style, or color. I’m a huge fan of the pompadour look with buzzed sides and fun top that you can rake forward for a less edgy and simpler look when you don’t have time for all that. Here are 38 photos of Rihanna’s short hairstyles, loosely ordered from shortest to longest.
Pinterest, we love you and hate you. You save all the cool hair colors and styles we want to try from all over the internet. But you also help us waste sooooo much time. And now you think you have the upcoming 2016 hair trends nailed down? Well I’m excited to see if you’re right. Check out these hairstyles and color techniques Pinterest’s magic data people think will be on top for 2016.
The 25 year old Australian rapper, Iggy Azelia, has had some great hair over the last couple years. She’s apparently a fan of pink and blonde hair just as much as I am. And recently went full bright af pink! But tbh, I think I prefer her long flowing blonde hair as simple, elegant, and natural as possible. But hey, just my opinion. Oh yea, she’s done a few braided hairstyles. One of which people all over the internet have made bun of so much as a birds nest or challah bread roll, but it’s an interesting style. She should be commended for doing something different, and it looked great especially form the back with the braids going down the sides. In fact, all it needed was a crown and it would be a lot like the queens hairstyle Charlize Theron wears in the Huntsman Movies.
The new MTV show The Shannara Chronicles joins several other new post-apolyctitpical dystopian future style science fiction and fantasy shows like The 100, Into The Badlands, and Vikings. I’m, obviously, eating it up because I love just about all fantasy shows that aren’t disastrously terrible; and thus far, it’s been a great immersive and cinematic experience getting into a new worlds mythos. While it still has the feel of a CW teen drama, mtv seems to be pushing a bit on the limits of nudity, and the show will hopefully get a bit grittier as the season progresses.
If you haven’t seen StarWars The Force Awakens yet, you should. Then you should read this. Anyhow, Daisy Ridley, one of the stars of the new Star Wars movie (Episode VII The Force Awakens), rocks an interesting and functional tri-knot hairstyle. Obviously, her predecessors (Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia) hair was a unique hairstyle all it’s own with the ear covering giant buns. Rey’s hairstyle is more functional and less regal. Which makes sense for the movie plot, not knowing where she really comes from, and living essentially abandoned as an orphan. But it is functional and stylish. Almost like a samurai warriors topknot, just for longer hair that isn’t undercut. And so I call it a triple knot, not triple bun, because it’s really not a bun style.
The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis is an amazing atmospheric phenomenon created by the collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun’s atmosphere. Variations in color are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding… But now this super cool northern lights effect of dancing colors been transferred, in style and color, to peoples hairstyles. And it looks freakin’ amazing.
In The Huntsman Winter’s War, and after helping Snow White defeat Ravenna in the previous movie Snow White and The Huntsman, Eric must save everyone again. This time with the help of his forbidden lover the warrior Sara played by Jessica Chastain. And it’s not just defeating the evil queen Ravenna but also her sister Freya the ice queen. Charlize Theron again has a stunning Queen’s style complete with great hair styles and a beautiful gold crown like she has in the previous movie The Huntsman. Check out all 4 characters great hair.
Vikings season 4 is going to be great! Just from the season 4 teaser we can already see Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) is going to continue to have all sorts of amazing hairstyles. Let’s be honest, she’s the most bad-ass person on the show as a warrior, mother, and earl it’s amazing she has any time for her hair at all. Bjorn Lothbrok (Ragnar’s oldest son played by Alexander Ludwig) looks like he’s going to play a more central role in the upcoming season, and become way more awesome of a character with some large chest and body tattoos.
Focusing on all the most amazing hairstyles from movies and tv shows all the time isn’t healthy. The actors have an army of stylists making them look incredible for every scene. So to give us a bit of a reality check when our own hair isn’t perfect and to remind us about how much worse it could be (even sports celebrities have shit hair). Here are some of the worst hairstyles and haircuts on the internet. And wow are they bad, from the helicopter (not that one, lol) to a bowl cut with a rat tail finding anything worse will be a serious challenge.
AMC is seriously killing it with their post-apocalyptic shows like The Walking Dead and now Into The Badlands. Some of the seriously badass female characters are The Widow (played by Emily Beecham) and the clipper Zypher (played by Ellen Hollman). Who doesn’t love a strong woman kicking ass and looking great at the same time? The Barron also has a crazy beard going on, but I’ll leave that for another post, so you’ll just have to watch the show and see it for yourself. Check out Zypher and The Widow in Into The Badlands…
It’s not easy being a zombie in the usual sense of being undead. But Rose Mclver has it a bit easier, and is way better looking than your average zombie flick. Jumping on the white, gray, silver hair color trend Liv Moore looks great as a zombie. While the white hair is a symptom of their condition (along with craving eating brains), Rose Mclver and David Anders pull it off nicely. The show is just another in a long line of police procedurals with a twist like so many others (forever, castle, dexter, mentalist, etc.) but I like it for its brain content and the comic book style graphics in the intro. I imagine it’s a severe pain in the ass to keep their roots bleached out all the time when shooting new episodes.
If you haven’t seen the show, it’s a bit silly, but worth a look to see if ya like it. I just want to be able to use “…but I’m a Zombie” whenever someone asks me about my ridiculously awesome hairstyles or why I’m eating so much hot sauce.
Given the impending release of the new Star Wars movies, I thought I’d re-watch the first six and pick out a bunch of the amazing hairstyles the character designers and stylists imagined. The first movie is an ideal place to start with Natalie Portman’s seriously epic hairstyles as the Queen or the Naboo people and in contrast her styles as the Queen’s handmaiden, Padmé.
The Queen obviously needs a bit of an ostentatious style that her position and the gaggle of hand maidens affords. Even though this isn’t practical for real life, some of the styles are super cool. Maybe inspiration for a halloween or themed costume party?
So you want to look like a magical unicorn? This hair color trend is ideal for you. Opal hair color is like a rainbow of shimmering pastels on top of blonde or silver hair.
